Governing Regulations (GR)

Purpose: Establish the highest level of institutional governance and authority.

Approved by: The Board of Trustees.

Scope: Define the University’s mission, governance structure and the powers and responsibilities of its principal officers and bodies (President, Provost, Faculty Senate, Staff Senate, etc.).

Think of these as: The University’s “constitution.” They outline who has authority and how that authority is exercised.

GR I: Declaration of Principles

GR II: The Board of Trustees

GR III: The President

GR IV: The Faculty’s Primary Responsibility for the Credit-Bearing and Non-Credit Bearing Curriculum in Academic Colleges

GR V: Shared Governance Bodies

GR VI: The President’s Council
